Our Focus

A holistic learning environment where every child is guided to thrive.

At Joybirds, We acknowledge that not all children grow and develop at the same pace or in the same way. Our child-centred approach celebrates the individual talents, readiness and personalities of every student. With low student to educator ratios and warm, positive relationships, teachers use varying approaches to personalise learning for individuals.

Through child-initiated activities, students are able to engage with academic topics through their unique interests, and our teacher- led lessons provide them with active learning opportunities that challenge students in fun, interesting ways.

Joybirds Instills a culture of perseverance in the face of challenge and new possibilities, nurturing resilience, self-esteem, respect for others and a sense of social responsibility.

Spiritual Foundation

As a Christian institution, we are deeply committed to nurturing the spiritual, moral, and character development of every learner. Our structured Pastoral Program of Instruction (PPI) provides purposeful spiritual guidance, anchoring learners in strong Christian values. Through our school anthem and prayer, the Joybirds community is united by a shared faith, continually reminded that true wisdom, strength, and success are found in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Student Leadership

Leadership development is intentionally woven into school life at Joybirds. Learners are empowered to serve and lead through a well-organized Student Council modeled on the Kenyan government structure. Positions such as School President, Vice President, Class Governors, and Permanent Secretaries cultivate responsibility, confidence, integrity, and effective leadership from an early age.

Life Skills Program

Beyond the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), Joybirds offers a carefully curated Life Skills Program designed to develop emotionally intelligent, confident, and socially aware learners. The program addresses essential life competencies such as personality development, assertiveness, decision-making, emotional well-being, confidence building, healthy relationships, and conflict resolution—delivered in an age-appropriate and supportive manner.

Clubs and Enrichment Activities

Our diverse range of clubs and enrichment activities provides learners with opportunities to explore talents, passions, and creativity beyond the classroom. These include Debating, Cooking, French, Scrabble and Chess, Mathematics, Reading, Skating, Journalism, Drama & Music, Wildlife Conservation, Scouts and Girl Guides, and Karate. Through these programs, learners develop discipline, teamwork, leadership, creativity, and a balanced approach to learning.
